Before School Care

St. Peter's provides free supervised before school
care in the school cafeteria Students cannot be dropped off at the Annex or go upstairs to the Primary classrooms until 7:40 a.m. Our faculty need to have time to work in their classrooms before school and all faculty and staff meet in prayer at 7:30 a.m. Students are escorted to the Annex and Primary Buildings at 7:40 a.m.

Drop in to Wordstock 2007!

The Brainpower Connection Schools - University of the Incarnate Word, St. Anthony High School, Incarnate Word  High School, St. Anthony Elementary School, and our own St. Peter Prince of Apostles School would like to invite everyone to  a wonderful celebration held on the UIW campus called "Wordstock". This event is sponsored by the University and local businesses for students and their families to come and enjoy food, fun, and entertainment.  St. Peter's School, our own Knights of Columbus, and the UIW Alumni Board (of which our school Principal is a member!) will have booths there and there
will be many other booths as well. "Wordstock" is onSaturday, September 8, 2007 from 5pm to 11pm. It'sa nice evening on a beautiful campus, so come  and  join us!  For more information, contact our school offices at 824-3171 or visit the UIW website at www.uiw.edu

 Monday is Spirit Day! Students-wear your Spirit Shirt with your uniform pants, shorts, or skirt on Mondays. GO TIGERS GO

 Sarah Centeno, 6th grader,  won first place for her age group, at Our Part of Town for District 3. She will be attending the Finals in September.

Mrs. O's Kindergarten is in need of used tennis balls. They need lots of tennis balls to cushion the bottom of their chairs and tables. Please send to either office for Ms. Orihuela. Thank you!

Turn Up YourSpeakers!:Did you listen to Y100 this summer? Did you turn up your speakers!  The Archdiocese of San Antonio produced two radio commercials this summer for Catholic Schools.  Did you recognize any voices?  You should!  Two of our own:  Maygen Mireles, 3rd grade and Mrs. Yvette Mireles, School Secretary/Registrar, made the cut!  Good job Ladies!

Lottery Drawings for the students
who sell 10 or more tubs of a combination
of both Cookie Dough and Pretzel Dough.
Note for each 5 additional tubs sold, the student will
receive another entry into the weekly lottery drawings.

Service Work Opportunities for the Upcoming Months are listed below:

·   Our Fall Fundraiser begins August 27 and runs through September 10. Once all the items are delivered Liz Garza, our Fundraiser Coordinator, will need some help in distributing all the orders. If you can help

·   The Halloween Committee is currently working on our upcoming carnival. Contact Martha Rodriguez 834-2918 to see what help she may need especially with decorations, set up and
clean up.

·   Hospitality Committee can also use more help, please call Mary Kelly to volunteer your time 771-8119.

·   All committee’s/organizations - please turn in your list of committee members to me, so I can appropriately record each parent volunteers service hours. This applies to CYO, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Church Groups, School Athletic Board, etc.

·  The School Office has copies of the Service Hour Form and they are also available on the schools website. The Service Hour Forms should be filled out, signed by the person in charge of the activity and can be turned into the School Office daily.  If you should have any questions, please contact me at one of the numbers listed below. THANKS!!!

Playground Clean-Up:Our playground was in need of a major clean-up. Thank you to the wonderful St. Peter's Knights of Columbus, who donated their time and strength last weekend to help us out! Also, a huge thank you to all of the volunteers who worked this weekend and  replenished the mulch. Thank you, thank you from all of the students who totally enjoy the playground!
