Treasurer’s Report:

As of January 31, 2009 we have $48,123.47 in the bank.  There are still a couple of outstanding deposits.    Sandra discovered that the new Quicken does not read old files.  She will have to manually input files from the previous three years (2005 to 2008).

Old Business:

Catholic Schools Week: Tess Penaloza

Ñ     The week went very well.

Ñ     We need to have a set menu for Grandparent’s Day.

Ñ     The individual ice cream cups were better.

Ñ     The basketball game brought in $300 at the door.

Hospitality: Mary Kelly

Ñ     There were two information das held.  There were 15 families the first day – eight signed up.  The next day 8 families attended with four families signing up for next school year.  There were mostly K3-K5 families in attendance.

Committee Reports:

Service Work: Ileana Werner

Ñ     117 families have completed their hours.  Total logged is 4,423 hours.  She has received a lot of unsigned sheets.

School Store: Teresita Ayala

Ñ     Priscilla showed us a shirt with the SPS logo embroidered on it.  This is a possibility for our boys’ shirts.

Homeroom Parent Coordinator: Becky Pawelek

Ñ     Attendance is problematic at PAC meetings. We will look at options for moving our meeting next year.

Ñ     Valentine’s Day parties will be held on Friday at 2 pm and kept low key.

Spring Fundraiser: Dawn Bryan

Ñ     Cookie dough/Pie sale starts Monday 2/9 and ends 2/24. Brochures will go out in backpacks tomorrow.

Ñ     Dawn obtained a $250 donation from a family friend that will be used to purchase grand prizes (e.g., 4-pack season pass to Fiesta Texas or Wii game system.  Grand prize drawing will be held on March 18th which is also distribution day.

Ñ     Dawn will make flyers for teacher’s to announce the raffle and explain the rules (10/10 sell 10/sell another 10 to enter).

Ñ     Priscilla provided a new brochure for review and mentioned being contacted by another local representative who can supply cookies (preformed or in tubs) possibly for next year.

Dayosa: Liz Garza

Ñ     April 23rd.  Note this year will be a full day, not early out.

Ñ     Discussed granting of service hours for parents who make cascarones (1 hour per 3 dozen).  Store purchased ones are not eligible.

Ñ     Need to arrange lunch for K3/K4 as last year the combination pickup in concession stand was too disorganized.

New Business:

Ñ     PTC General Meeting will by March 18th, the same day as cookie dough distribution.

Ñ     Board nominations being accepted for Corresponding Secretary and School Store Manager.  Nomination committee is Yvette Mireles, Lisa Schultz, and Becky Pawelek.  Deadline for nominations is Feb 27th.

Ñ     School Athletics:   Athletics Committee is being reorganized into a booster club.  They will continue many of the same functions except financial and staffing responsibilities will move under school administration.  Ms Salinas explained that this is part of the transition to bring everything under the LOGOS system for financial reporting at the Archdiocese level.

Ñ     TV cable connections and wiring installation is planned for the Parish Hall, Large Conference Room and Library.  This will allow better support for classrooms without TV or internet to view national events, such as the inauguration ceremonies.

Updates/Announcements – Priscilla Gonzaba

Ñ     We have ordered two-6 ft and two-8ft green table covers with our St. Peter’s logo.  This should improve our presentation look over the plastic table covers we have been using for promotion events, information days, etc.  They should arrive by Feb. 24th in time to be used for the summer camp promotion.

Ñ     A coupon book was submitted as another fundraiser option to consider for next year.

Ñ     Acknowledged how much support and participation we have seen from teachers/staff at events and fundraisers this year.  Thank you and keep it up!

Ñ     Sandra suggested we look at ways to improve the beginning of the year registration process by trying to go more electronic with forms and validation.

Next meeting is Wednesday, March 4 at 6:00pm in the Annex Library with our General Meeting on March 18th at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

Meeting adjourned at 7:43 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
