Mary Ann Leopold
I graduated from Incarnate Word College with a BA degree and teacher certification. I attended SWTSU and received a MA degree with certification in Administration. I also took many additional hours in curriculum ad teaching methods. I continue to subscribe to professional education and teaching periodicals to keep updated on methods and teaching standards.

I teach Math at St. Peter's to students in grade 6 and 7 and Algebra 1 to 8th graders who qualify for the course.

I enjoy teaching! I have fun with modeling math and trying various approaches. I follow each student's progress carefully and provide whatever help or practice is needed. I believe in youth; they will be tomorrow's leaders. Critical thinking skills and logic are life skills that students must develop. These skills are incorporated with math classes. It is important that students practice the skills they are taught and that mistakes are corrected.

As a teacher, it is important that I provide a teaching atmosphere where students feel comfortable to ask questions, to make mistakes,  and learn. I want students to enjoy each math class in spite of the hard work involved and to feel good about what they have accomplished.

I came to St. Peter's School in 1976 as the administrator and remained in that position for twenty-one years. I resigned so I could work more closely with students by teaching. I was grateful when I was asked to remain at St. Peter's as a teacher. I chose to stay at St. Peter's because I firmly believe that our students are given the best opportunity to grow and develop their educational pursuits as well as mature in their faith and learn to extend service to those in need.
